Spring look in the fall

IMG_2145_2

Hey dolls, how's it going?

It's mid December and the sun is guarding Florida as though its existence depends on its safety.  Occasionally it allows a few rain clouds to block its view, sporadically, but never for too long.  SMH!  With christmas steadily approaching one would think the cold weather would be here to stay by now.  I guess they don't call this the sunshine state for no reason.  If it looks like spring, smells like spring and feels like spring then I definitely will dress like it's spring.  It's no secret that i'm a stickler for warm weather (although December is the only month i'm willing to succumb to the cold).  We're not quite there yet so shorts, shorts, shorts and more shorts for this 80 degree weather we've been experiencing.

Let me just say i'm in love with the floral pattern of this top that I scored at H&M for only 5 bucks guys.  Gooo me!  It's such a casual top but can be made dressy depending on what you pair it with.  In this case I topped it with this neutral tone scallop trimmed jacket which I also scored at H&M for a really affordable price (not that H&M clothes aren't already affordable but they're having major sales right now).  I'm always attracted to scallop trimmed clothing so this jacket was a no brainer at less than 20 bucks.  I could literally throw it on with any of my casual tops to give my outfits a dressier finish.  I could do this with any blazer but this color goes with just about anything.  I finished off my look by adding shorts and my studded Zara heels.

**Warning**: pic quality is REALLY bad. It was about to rain and my camera doesn't do well with elements...lol.  My picture hosting site also made the quality a lot worse.*

Neon in the fall + sunglasses stalking

IMG_1947

Hey dolls, how've you been?

I've been great.  My momma had a successful surgery last week which i'm extremely happy about.  YAY!!  I finally got around to taking pics & i'm excited.  Although extremely casual, what I love about this look is the fact that no one else around me was wearing neon.  My pants stood out like a blooming flower sitting in a bed of thorns. =) LOL!  I love the coolness of fall but (in my opinion) the way people dress during the fall can be a bit depressing (at least where I live) as far as color goes (not talking style here).  Plus I keep getting sick so I needed some color in my life to lift my mood.

As for the outfit!  I'm a huge lover of big cats so no doubt this is one of my favorite tops.  I was heading out to meet up with visiting family members so I knew I needed comfortable walking shoes.  These Zara booties does just that for me; provide comfort while adding a little bit of edge.  I do have other shoes that I would have preferred wearing with this look but comfort will always win when I know i'll be doing lots of walking.  The pants were a no-brainer because it goes so well with his (the cat on my top) eyes. =)  This look is my way of edging up a jeans and t-shirt look.  Hope you enjoy!

My Current Obsessions: Sunglasses

Sunglasses are still one of my favorite accessories.  They're the perfect complimentary piece to add instant chicness and personality to any outfit.  The ones i'm wearing in this post are my current faves that I purchased from ASOS recently.  This time of year always puts me in the shopping mood so I spend hours and hours (I know it's really sad =( LOL) on the internet just browsing...sometimes shopping =).  I'm ok in the clothes and shoes department so i've been spending most of my time scouring accessories, specifically sunglasses.  I just wanted to share a few that I think could fill the current void that i'm having.  Of course I still want every pair of Raybans in existence but these are some of the other brands/designs that caught my eye. =)

I found all these styles here at this website.  They offer a lot of my favorite brands.  What do you guys think about these?  Which style would you go for?

I actually started this post before thanksgiving but got so busy.  So HAPPY (LATE) THANKSGIVING!  Hope everyone enjoyed, I know I did.  I'm still full as I type this...LOL.

Stars and Stripes

Posing like a super hero.  In this case super voter...lol

Hey dolls, how's it going?

Yesterday I was extremely anxious to get down to my local precinct and exercise my democratic right to vote.  So much so that I pulled out one of my faves, my super hot Jeffrey Campbell Litas, which I might add are theeee most comfortable boots I own.  I stood in line for almost 2 hours and didn't feel a bit of pain.  Of course in keeping with my patriotic mindset I had to throw on one of my stars and stripes t-shirts.  A girls gotta keep herself entertained when it comes to fashion...lol.  I was in the all black mood but couldn't resist this grey H&M (I think it's wool) jacket for keeping me warm on this chilly day.  I left super early so everything else was grab and go except for the hair which was mostly just go...lol.  Did anyone else get a chance to vote?

Printed pants

IMG_1647

Hi dolls how's it going?

I'm literally back from the dead after suffering from the flu for the past week.  I urge everyone to get your flu shots (I didn't) because the flu is no joke.  It's miserable and I know we don't like feeling miserable...just fashionable.  Today I was finally able to put something on, other than sweats, and I felt GREAT.  Back in my element and ready to put that bad memory behind me.

I headed out to run errands and a few other things so I opted for a more comfortable look (not that I don't always go for comfortable looks).  Let me tell you, I LOVE these printed pants I found at H&M last month.  So much so that I bought them in the two colors available.  They're great for dressing up or down (more down) and i'm obsessed with the way the horizontal lines create an illusion of thicker legs.  I may be the only one seeing this but just let me enjoy my moment...=).  I could have paired this with any of my solid color tops (or even printed ones if I was feeling risky) but decided to go the comfort route with an oversized sweater which i'm obsessed with btw.   It's rare to find stuff in Zara for only 20 bucks so when I do I almost always impulsively go for it.  If I remember correctly it also came in yellow and white.  I really want the white one but i'm sure it'll be gone by now.  Anyway, I threw on my cute and comfortable jeweled tone pumps and a (somewhat) matching bag to complete the look and I was out the door.

Halloween

Hey loves, i'm back so soon.

I must admit I wasn't aware of the impact of halloween until I moved to the states.  I never really got dressed up but all my college friends would get excited every time halloween was approaching.  I'm guessing to them it was the one night they can go outside themselves and be whoever or whatever they wanted to be.  Or maybe it was just another excuse to party...who knows?!!  I'm ok with it as long as it's good-safe-fun.  However, most of the costumes i've seen have been pretty basic and to be honest a lot of girls wore the same look.  I swear i'm so over the naughty cops and poison ivy costumes.  It wasn't until I joined the blogging world that i've seen costumes that really blew me away.  Khatu from iamkhatu.blogspot.com actually makes her own costumes every year and the craftsmanship is always amazing.  I can't decide whether I loved her peacock costume or her rendition of Lady Gaga's meat dress more.  You guys should check it out!  Now I know not everyone can handle a sewing machine or aren't as creative as Khatu is.  Some of us are really not that patient either.  I know I definitely lack the sewing machine skills but i'm working on it ;-).  Some other bold and creative costumes i've seen were the avatar costumes.  I mean I personally wouldn't leave my house just covered in paint but hey if you got it flaunt it.  I really don't know what I would dress up as but i'm definitely feeling Lady Gaga and all her braveness.  I'm considering these two options from Halloween fancy dress.

Click on these links for a better view black and blue

I'm really feeling my options but they're definitely not as creative as those I came across while browsing this pinterest page There's a whole bunch of unique and not to mention hilarious costume ideas on here...haha.  My favorites were the swiffer system and mud lady costume and the toilet and plumber.  Now that's freakin creative and not to mention unique because really who else would spend their day being a filthy toilet?  Be sure to check it out, I promise you'll get a good laugh.  Plus there's a lot of cute kiddy costumes.

What about you guys?  What are you dressing up as?  Let me know, I promise I won't steal your ideas!

Love,
T’wana

I'm backkkkk

Hey loves, how've you been?

Oh how i've missed typing on here with this bright ass white background staring at me as I ramble on and on about nothing really.  I LOVE it!  It's been almost 3 months since I last blogged (boooo) and seriously THAT SUCKS!!!!  Those of you who actually read this knew that I traveled back home to the Caribbean for a few months.  I got so caught up in life and what was happening around me both mentally and physically that I lost track of my blogging.  My family and I have been going through some stressful stuff but don't get me wrong, as you can tell from my last post I had a GREAT trip.  Life is truly a blessing and although you may hit road blocks along the way, there's still a LOT to be grateful for.  I'm not one to open up or seek pity so I try to lead a positive life and keep it moving no matter what.  Leading a positive life to me starts with surrounding myself with things that make me happy.  Maybe that's why I have so many obsessions...LOL.  A girls gotta keep her mind busy.  I highly recommend a book called "The Power" by  Rhonda Byrne to people who are interested in living a more positive life.  Most of you should have heard of this; it's the follow up book to it's successful predecessor "The Secret".  It reads a bit redundant but you have to really think about the message.  Let me know if any of you have read it, i'll love to hear your thoughts.

So let's seeeee....what's happened since i've been gone? **thinking** nothing much has changed with me fashion wise.  I'm still obsessed with just about everything fashion related; still hate fashion rules: still very much attracted to everything colorful; my shoe collection has grown a little (not too much); my wardrobe has expanded (i'm over trying to control this); my favorite basketball team won the championship (GOOOO HEATS); my one year blog anniversary has passed (=( sad I didn't get to post); very much in love and still engaged (the movie 5 year engagement will have nothing on me..haha I kid); still don't have my DSLR (sad face); still living in Florida and the rest i'm sure will come to me some other time.  I know I know, I act like i've been gone for a year...LOL.

About the look: I was feeling like a princess today so I wore my tutu style pleated Jones & Jones skirt and paired it with a black open-back sweater (sorry no pics of the back =(, maybe next time) to give it a more fall feel although the weather here in Florida is super warm.  I personalized the look by adding a baseball cap and my new favorite Zara booties.  I've developed an obsession for gold and anything gold trimmed.  This just in time to keep me in trend since metallics are on the menu this fall.  Black and gold have become one of my favorite color combos and I hope you love it as much as I do.

I REALLY appreciate you sticking around and supporting my blog.  Thanks to the sweet readers who sent me emails while I was gone.  You're the best!
