Blue tide

IMG_7865_2

Hey fashion dolls, how's it going?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far. I know I am! I won't say much on this post other than the ocean, once again, was my inspiration. The shoes represent the beautiful blue's of the Caribbean ocean that i'm accustomed...the denim ruffle dress represents the rippling waves of the ocean....the tan colored trench coat represents the sand and my yellow clutch the sunlight. Of course I wore this with my beloved Rayban's which are a must in this beautiful Florida sunshine. Plus I literally can't see without them (squint queen). I love finding inspiration from nature. What about you guys? What inspires you?

Floral pants

IMG_7753_2

Hey fashion dolls, how's it going?

Remember this post where I told you about my newly developed love for floral print? That love has now fully evolved and I am obsessed (I know I use that word a lot). I bought these pants at H&M a few weeks ago and i'm finally getting a chance to wear them. I knew I had to have them from the time I laid eyes on them in a recent H&M magazine. I hadn't seen them in my local store until a few weeks ago (it took sooo long). I couldn't wait so I ended up buying the skirt (in this same print) thinking i'll never get the pants but a week or two later there they were. They sold out in lightning speed and seem to be very popular. I'm just happy I was able to grab a pair because they're so versatile. They go with so many of my previously owned items. For this look I kept it simple by pairing it with a white peplum tube top. I did have a royal blue cardigan to top it off but it was SOOO HOT I took it off and forgot to take pics with it. Anyone else excited about floral prints for Spring?

A Neon Love Affair

IMG_7694_2

Hey fashion dolls, how's it going?

Just a quick post before I go off to sleepy land. I think i've mentioned before how obsessed I am with this seasons neon trend recycled from the 80's. For this look I went a bit neon crazy. So much so that my camera couldn't handle it....LOL. I'm working on getting a better camera so please bear with me. I know the quality is bad but I do hope you enjoy the pics.

My mint green pants and strappy sandals

IMG_7648_2

Hey fashion dolls, how's it going?

Spring is steadily approaching, aren't you guys excited??? I know I am! I'm even more excited that Mint appears to be the color of the season judging from all the mint items i've been seeing in stores. If I haven't mentioned it before i'm saying it now....MINT IS MY FAVORITE color. Yes that definitely deserved caps lock. I'm obsessed! So when I walked into Zara and saw these pants it was a no brainer. My camera (in the strong sunlight) struggled with capturing the true color (which is mint green not blue as it appears). These pants are super easy to dress up or down so I paired it with a casual black top for a more laid back look. For my shoes, I couldn't resist throwing on another of my newest obsessions.....my strappy Zara heels. Bad idea! Read on to find out why. =)

I was so love struck when I spotted these on the Zara website. They were in my cart a second later. They sold out really quickly but Zara recently restocked. As much as I love them I have to be honest, I made the mistake of doing lots of walking in them right out the box and they murdered my feet. Killed it! My feet were so swollen! THE worst i've ever experienced. So bad that i've been wearing flats ever since to give my feet a break....and I hardly EVER wear flats. I fixed the problem, however, by adding insoles to the ball of my feet. It's a lot better and I definitely should have thought of it sooner. It would have saved me the embarasment I experienced when my hun's mom asked me if i'm sure I can walk in those heels. My confident reaction, "oh yeah i'm use to this." HA! I was almost to tears a few hours later. I couldn't even make it back to the car and I refused to take them off....LOL. They've been noticing me in flats ever since. LOL. Despite all that, i'll still wear them again and again. They just need breaking in. I hope!

All Star Weekend Fashion Show

IMG_7603_2

Hey fashion dolls how's it going?

I wasn't going to make this post because I didn't want to come off as being negative but I thought about it and the truth is better than nothing at all. If you follow basketball you would know the all star weekend events wrapped up in Orlando last weekend. I was able to attend a fashion show and wanted to make a quick post on what I thought since I did receive a PR invite which I was extremely grateful for.

Overall, the location was very pretty but just needed a bit more lighting. I love going to fashion shows and viewing the designs of up and coming designers. I didn't expect a show that would rival those of MBFW (my ultimate dream). However, I was a bit disappointed with the execution of this event. There was a huge disconnect between the press release and the actual event. To begin, my hun and I got there on time and was hugely frustrated with the late start. The show took place in downtown which meant parking by the hour. Despite that, the event did start about 2 hours after the advertised start time which I felt was extremely unprofessional. There were so many things that were just so wrong right from the beginning. The lighting was wayyy too dark for a fashion show. When the show finally got started the host was great and very gracious but that was overpowered by the lack of good planning and time management. There were so many technical issues both back stage (i'm assuming because of the huge gaps between designers) and on stage (Mic problems). But enough about that because it's all about the fashion right?

Of the 7 or so designers featured I did enjoy 2 and a few pieces from others. One was a swimwear line out of Miami called GSaints. I wasn't able to get great pictures because it was a bit confusing trying to figure out where to sit since it wasn't a traditional runway. We ended up with good seats but not in a great pic taking location. I did catch a few and I apologize in advance for the quality. The other was by a designer named Kiswanna. I've included pics of what I wore and just a few of my fave pieces which I was able to snap.
