All Star Weekend Fashion Show

IMG_7603_2

Hey fashion dolls how's it going?

I wasn't going to make this post because I didn't want to come off as being negative but I thought about it and the truth is better than nothing at all. If you follow basketball you would know the all star weekend events wrapped up in Orlando last weekend. I was able to attend a fashion show and wanted to make a quick post on what I thought since I did receive a PR invite which I was extremely grateful for.

Overall, the location was very pretty but just needed a bit more lighting. I love going to fashion shows and viewing the designs of up and coming designers. I didn't expect a show that would rival those of MBFW (my ultimate dream). However, I was a bit disappointed with the execution of this event. There was a huge disconnect between the press release and the actual event. To begin, my hun and I got there on time and was hugely frustrated with the late start. The show took place in downtown which meant parking by the hour. Despite that, the event did start about 2 hours after the advertised start time which I felt was extremely unprofessional. There were so many things that were just so wrong right from the beginning. The lighting was wayyy too dark for a fashion show. When the show finally got started the host was great and very gracious but that was overpowered by the lack of good planning and time management. There were so many technical issues both back stage (i'm assuming because of the huge gaps between designers) and on stage (Mic problems). But enough about that because it's all about the fashion right?

Of the 7 or so designers featured I did enjoy 2 and a few pieces from others. One was a swimwear line out of Miami called GSaints. I wasn't able to get great pictures because it was a bit confusing trying to figure out where to sit since it wasn't a traditional runway. We ended up with good seats but not in a great pic taking location. I did catch a few and I apologize in advance for the quality. The other was by a designer named Kiswanna. I've included pics of what I wore and just a few of my fave pieces which I was able to snap.

Kiswanna, Bella Rosa & House of Lamacia (I would never wear this last piece but I thought it was artistic and the workmanship was great)

Sorry again for the quality of these pics and for the pic overload. =) Hope you enjoy!
